Who is Molly Marsh? Meet Love Island 2023 contestant and Corrie star's daughter

Of all the Love Island summer 2023 cast, Molly Marsh has certainly had a more tumultuous journey than most.
Dumped in episode 19 after Kady McDermott entered the villa and decided to couple up with her partner Zachariah Noble, Molly was left in tears when she was torn apart from the South London-based PT.
But in a shock twist, Molly then reentered the show as part of the Casa Amor cast - and quickly recoupled again with Zach.
Despite a small blip, it’s been plain sailing ever since for the pair, and they will walk into tonight’s grand final together.

Who is Molly Marsh?
Molly is an influencer who had more than 30,000 followers on Instagram before entering the show. She's also a theatre performer.
She said of her job: "With my job being in social media, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to go on press trips and I’ve actually been out to the Love Island Villas in Mallorca and South Africa. Having the experience to walk around both was amazing, but to now actually live in the Villa is going to be incredible."

Who is Molly Marsh's mother?
Molly is the daughter of actress Janet Marsh, who fans might recognise from Coronation Street. Over the years, Janet has appeared on the soap in three different roles, playing a nurse, a receptionist, and then an ITU nurse.
She's also appeared in series like Where The Heart Is, Bodies, In The Dark, Love, Lies and Records, and Still Open All Hours.
In an interview with RadioTimes.com and other press, Molly revealed that Janet was “very open to the opportunities” her daughter would gain from being in the villa, but hadn’t dished out any specific advice.
“They know how the show works and what it entails,” she said. “So they are really excited for me and they know how much I love being in a relationship. They know that I love being in love, so they do want that for me again, so I can probably leave them alone a bit!”

The star, who had more than 30,000 followers before entering the villa, has various posts pinned to her profile, including one celebrating body positivity.

As for why she wanted to join the show, Marsh said: "I think it’s ideal timing and the perfect way to find someone. I don’t go out and party and I don’t use dating apps, I’m actually quite old-fashioned, so there’s no better way to meet someone than by going into a Villa in the sun with the potential ‘one’ in there."
